We never knock on midnight's door
when deadlines loom
for the next day
to find the worry
knocking us around

will we make it
any lame excuse will do
in case something goes wrong
and with every beat
I expect my heart will stop

Any teenage dream gets lost
in stressful times
the darkness seeps in
and I wonder who let the midnight
come rushing in.
