Electric lines over head

We were so young

Crosswire our lives

Bring separation between us

And them

I waited all this time

But answers reveal new truths

Dwelling in the unknown

Birds sing no more

Trees don’t offer a home

Untamed they’ve come too close.

Crossed the lines

There’s no chance to be that child

Here to serve the great divide.
