Poem

She sits on the velvet petrol arm chair 
sips Bordeaux, plum and vanilla flavour 
Sun’s outside
while the chatter of punters keep the room warm inside 

a choice of red too heavy for summer
and the lunch ordered to celebrate
an ending or a meeting completed
but no drink can sink the feeling

of throwing arms up in the air
