Definitely morning SPAWN again.

Good morning!

Hmm, a lot has happened in the last few weeks. We moved my Mom into a different assisted living residence. (yes, less than 12 months from her last move) It's been a challenge downsizing her from a two bedroom to a studio. Oh! And my husband gave notice at work for his retirement😯

Anyway, on to the questions:

1. Second chances. Funny this comes up this week. I and totally re-structuring my substack and returning it back to what it was originally designed for—a travel and lifestyle blog. My midlife content has its own publication and in the fall, I will have an author site for my fiction. You may have also noticed my profile name and handle have also changed. 🌞

2. Three items in my bag - wallet, keys, pen, business cards. Oh wait, that's four.

3. A person to give a second chance too? Not really.

As redemption is a primary theme of my work, I am all about second chances … and yet, I’ll leave that to my fiction …

Three items that are always in your bag when you’re out and about. Don’t include phone and charger.

Um, I never carry a charger except when I’m traveling, or intending to sit in the ER waiting room for hours, so … does that mean I get 4 items? House keys, wallet (which is a cool card-size travelers notebook so it has a fountain pen and notebook in it), cloth for drying hands, hard candy.

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday to you all!

So this week, over at the 'House of Haiku', we've been talking about 'vacations'. You can find out more about that here: https://chrisjfranklin.substack.com/p/house-of-haiku-prompt-vacation

Also, I've been exploring these new 'AI Checker' tools more, and I ran my latest piece of Fiction through which is scheduled for tomorrow. It said it's '100% Human Written'. Yay! So the tools seem to be working, as far as I can tell. A lot of other people are reporting it's making mistakes, though, and flagging AI as Human and Human as AI, so I may have just been lucky. Probably due to my stylistic choice of using so many commas and ellipses all over the place. Haha!

Anyway, on to the questions... When have you been given a second chance? Well, I think I mentioned this before, but years ago when I was still performing regularly, one of the bands I was in did a show that went really badly because we had the wrong equipment with us for that venue. The sound was terrible, and people were getting disgruntled. But we went back again, and fortunately, had a second chance to get things right.

What are three items that are always in your bag? I don't always necessarily have a bag, but I usually carry a notebook and pen in a pocket. If I do have a bag, then, depending where I'm going, it's probably going to have a mini travel guitar, or a ukulele, in it. Haha!

Is there someone you need to give a second chance to? I guess it really depends what caused the rift, or the relationship to break down. Some things can be recovered from more easily than others. It takes time, and a lot of talking, but eventually, in most cases, if both parties really want it to happen, the healing can begin... 😎
