May poem giveaway
For four months I’ve been gifting poems right left and centre. Looking for themes of love and appreciation through the power of words in a poem to send them across to readers and subscribers. Some poems ease our day and remind us of who we are or who we should be. Let that guide be your north star or your southern cross. I get a lot of love from those of you who have asked for a poem. Thank you!
May has a new poem giveaway. But now it’s time to unleash our travel bugs. A hometown or a place you’d love to visit. Maybe you’ve been there before or not. Either way, I don’t mind. Choose the place and I’ll write a poem about it.
So dear readers, pack your bags and let me know where and why we’re going there with the poem. I’ll write you a poem and I need you to arrange to travel to this place and share a photo within a three year period. So save up! I don’t care how you get there, just get a plane, boat, walk, cycle, bus it, drive and get to your favourite place!
As before, it’s nice if you share a comment or post on your Notes or publication too with your reaction and your plans as when you’ll be getting to this place of magic. But for now, let me write a poem about your dream destination.

This month I am also starting a May challenge for you poets out there. Find details here. If you want to write a poem using song titles only and sharpen your memory or look up a favourite artist’s songs which you use for the basis of your song title poetry. April had a NaPoWriMo going on - national poem writing month - in which we wrote poems to a theme each day. Now I’m trialling this as some of you enjoyed my Cardigans poem.

Egypt!! EGYPT - my dream destination! I love history and historical sites and vast stretches of sand and deserts. Egypt is one place that calls out to me. I feel like I belong there, among the pyramids and the pharaohs long forgotten.
