Love Jeff Buckley... I am hoping someone to do Bowie as well. I thought I'd better leave that to someone else. It's a good day for musical poetry, yes! So many names with B... Beatles... hahahahha
I still have 'the red shoes' album on cassette tape. I would love to meet Kate Bush in real life, a poem in her honour is next best thing. Now I have to go listen to some of her stuff, not 'moments of pleasure' though, that one makes me cry.
Her music gets better with each listen! Have a look at this old interview... some 30 years ago. So funny, so inappropriate stuff some of it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajMWT0dFNjQ
Kate so professional and the interviewer a bit of a prick. Her and Victoria could handle him well though. Imagine getting to see her play live back then.
B: THE BEACH BOYS
STILL I DREAM OF IT.
She was one of those CALIFORNIA GIRLS - the kind that love SURFIN'.
Her name was BARBARA ANN.
One night, while we were watching JOHNNY CARSON, she suddenly said, "I'M SO LONELY."
Then she gave me A CASUAL LOOK, nothing more, but it led to a lot of HOT FUN IN THE SUMMERTIME.
IN MY ROOM, IN MY CAR, even IN THE PARKIN' LOT - and pretty soon, we were much more than just FRIENDS.
Until one day she said, "IT'S OVER NOW."
And I was the lonely one, lost without my SURFER GIRL... 😎
Brilliant! Love this and the Beach Boys!
Thanks! Yes, I love them too. Amazing band. And of course, a huge catalogue of songs that was perfect to utilise for this project! 😎

Hallelujah
If you knew the other woman
Just like a woman
What would you say
Witches’ Rave
Dream of you and I
Grace
The sky is a landfill
I know it’s over
I want somebody badly
Lilac wine
Forget her
And a bonus Jeff Buckley. B is a good day for poetry :)

I could dig out my Bowie record. I dunno, how could you sum his genius in one poem.
You can't... it's just a quick flash, like any of these poems.
Wow
The Saxophone song
Wuthering Heights
Moments of Pleasure
Moving
The Sensual World
Wild Man
And so is love
This woman’s work
Experiment IV
Running up that hill
Cloudbusting
Hello Earth
The Man with a child in his eyes
Breathing
Army Dreamers
The Big Sky

Yup he is what he is.... unhelpful. Kate has a lot of dignity as does Victoria. But this idea of putting them against each other almost.
Very nice. My favourite Kate Bush song is probably 'Babooshka'. I say 'song', I of course mean 'video'! Haha... 😎
Video?? Yeah, what about lyrics, song itself? no? hahahahhaaha With Kate I find everything is just pure excellence!
She is an incredible artist, yes. And artist really is the term in her case, because it is true art... 😎
It has to be Irish group Bell X1 today.
X2
Tongue a thousand
little downers,
velcro the ribs
of a broken umbrella.
I’ll see your heart
and I’ll raise you mine.

Wow! Never heard of this band so am grateful you've shared a link to them. Great music.
Love your poem too, velcro the ribs and I see your heart and I'll raise you mine. Wow!
They're amazing live, I'll be seeing them next month. Their album 'Flock' is probably their most successful.
So their name is Bell X1 and they have a song called X2?
band is Bell X1. X2 is my own title to this poem, as in x 2 people, as in a couple. I've used 5 song titles here, easing myself into this challenge.
THE BLACK ANGELS
-
Phosphene Dream
-
I Dreamt
The Sniper at the Gates of Heaven
Young Men Dead
True Believers
River of Blood
You on the Run
Half Believing
Always Maybe
You introduced a new band to me. The titles you've picked just create such a dark and amazing poem. Thank you Fotini! Am listening to them now.
Brace yourself :)
It was full on heavy! Just like Kate! Thank you for the introduction.

Bjork
----
Come to me
violently happy
like someone in love.
----
I miss you
Isobel,
it’s oh so quiet.
----
You’ve been flirting again —
possibly maybe
big time sensuality.
----
It’s not up to you —
an echo, a stain,
quicksand.
----
All is full of love,
all neon like.
----
I was listening to Hyperballad yesterday thinking I should do Björk! But here you are with another masterpiece! Thank you Jonathan!
Thank you, WP
