What is amazing about this is how wonderful the words sound when one sings this aloud. One has fun with this whether one reads it or sings it. Good read!
It was the VERY LAST DAY of the Closing Down Sale at the Department Store.
The prices would be SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL.
But there were TOO MANY PEOPLE, so after about an hour of wading through crowds and fighting to even TOUCH a bargain, LUCY suggested we should just forget it and head back to the BUS STOP.
She was so determined not to STAY, that a voice in my head kept telling me SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT.
It turned out the reason she'd wanted to come here was because everyone was loaded with cash - cold hard cash she made sure every STRANGER we'd brushed past was SEPARATED from.
"WHAT KIND OF GIRL ARE YOU?" I asked, DRAGGIN' MY HEELS in stunned disbelief as we began walking back down the LONG DARK ROAD that was waiting for us outside.
This was a fun one, because they've got a huge pool of songs to choose from and use as a starting point. It's amazing to think we're a third of the way through the alphabet already! 😎
I know, never expected a sale and shopping in a prose poem or more fiction! I think classifies his work as more fiction than poems, but let the writer speak for himself.
Yes, I am mainly a Fiction writer. But if these are also considered Narrative Poetry as well, that is absolutely fine. I'm a poet and didn't know it, as they say! Haha... 😎
Haha! The Closing Down Sales do tend to be packed like this and full of people, so I thought it would be a good place for a pickpocket to go to work! 😎
Another new band! The other day a shoal of tuna fish passed by the beach where I was and now I get introduced to the band hot tuna! Do they only do instrumental stuff?
So cool do you live near the Atlantic or the pacific. Yes Hot Tuna is Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and Bassist Jack Cassady from the Jefferson Airplane, the band was formed in the late 1960's and continue to play. They play acoustic fingerstyle blues and Also blues based rock,
'Rat Girl' is the title of Kristend autobiography, amazing read that details her creative process and mental health issues. Epilepsy feels like having rock candy brains sometimes, so it's a mix of me and her in this poem.
I'm embarrassed to say she's another artist that's new to me. Rat Girl is a great title. Listening to this where she reads a part of the book. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsNI3exRzVk
How do you mean mix of you and her? (Sorry if you don't feel like answering, it's ok too).
That clip is pure poetry isn't it. I lent my copy to a friend and never got it back. I have an acquired brain injury hence the epilepsy, won't go into the boring details. I see things differently since, its when I started writing poetry. I guess kinda like how her head injury has led her to think in/through music.
Oh I see. I'm sorry to read. You can go or not go into as much detail as you want. Sorry the book never got returned either. I hate when people don't return stuff. I read/heard that George Michael was only interested in bugs and after he hit his head in an accident, he got into music. Must be something about hitting the head and getting into creative work.

You've got the hang of this Gordon. Brilliant, it's as if we are following that sip of water and someone moving down the floors. Love this!
magnificent choice, well executed
Hank Williams
(song-title sonnet)
----
Hey, good lookin’
I ain’t got nothing but time
on the banks of the old Pontchartrain.
I can’t get you off of my mind.
----
I won’t be home no more,
I’m so lonesome I could cry —
howlin’ at the moon,
long gone lonesome blues.
----
Everything’s okay:
baby we’re really in love.
I saw the light,
there’ll be no teardrops tonight.
----
I can’t help it (if I’m still in love with you).
Why don't you love me?
Every time you come up with a masterpiece! I need to spend more time listening to Hank!
What is amazing about this is how wonderful the words sound when one sings this aloud. One has fun with this whether one reads it or sings it. Good read!
Jonathan, You Win Again!!!

"A rich one", she replied, with a wink... 😎
And you found a theme to wrap the titles around! Great one!

This is fun, who can resist a closing down sale or some damn fine poetry.

Love this! Here we go, today's homework! Thank you!
I find it so appropriate that on letter H day, you compose this horny poem.
It was not premeditated, it came so naturally :)
I'm sure it wasn't and I'm sure it will be great!
H Hot Tuna
Living Just for you an embryonic journey
Let us get together a little faster
Come back baby I wish you would
Third week in the Chelsea genesis
Invitation my angel of darkness
Rock me baby been so long
Corners without exits easy now
River of time a serpent of dreams

Nearer the Atlantic but I've no beach where I am. I was just visiting the beach and the lifeguard told me the tuna had just passed.

Bugs?!
Insects, he was interested in insects....
I've seen her play twice, once in London, I think 2010 and in Galway back in 2016. Definitely recommend going to one of her gigs.
Must be! Lucky me. I actually mean that, it's a positive that's come from a negative.
Lucky you indeed especially as you are able to see the positives.
