Or ‘less of that kind of thing’ as one placard held in a protest on Craggy Island . I think they were protesting against a talent show or comedy open mic night.. but the placards were Irish sayings like ‘Down with that sort of carry on!’.. and of course, ‘less of that fun business here!’😆
Sheena the punk rocker is back! We had her in a couple of poems last year and caused quite a stir! Happy to see she's made a re entry and not been forgotten. Thank you Lisa! "Poison heart
"Find the river" indeed Kate. These titles as with Darienne's have reminded me of the poetic lyrics of REM. Need to go back and listen to these old songs of amazing art from the past. Thank you!
This is painful and full of heartache. Goes so well with the REM song titles for some reason. Aren't they from Georgia. There's one line I wanna move to another spot... sorry I can't help it. But then I read it again and I think this is not MY song title, it's yours! It's fab!!! I wouldn't change it, it does work. The repetition works so well to change the mood somehow to something more positive. This is very lyrical Chris.

Radiohead.
Was hoping this was La Roux and realised I was wrong. 😁
Ahh, Radiohead! It's great to see R Day wasn't left 'High & Dry' without them! Haha... 😎
No danger of that, cos I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo..😎
None of that please.

🫣🤣☝️
Haha! 😎👍
I love this. Never tried this before, but here it goes
Sixteen Blue:
I'm not sayin'
I'll be you
Go
Hold my life
Waitress in the sky
Skyline
Here comes a regular
(unsatisfied)
I'll buy
I.O.U.
Kiss me on the bus
birthday gal
Valentine
Anywhere's better than here
(songs by The Replacements)
Lots of travel in this one! Love it and welcome Lyriquediscord!
The Ramones
.
Sheena is a punk rocker
Bonzo goes to Bitburg
I just want to have something to do
Somebody put something in my drink
I wanna be sedated
Poison heart
I want to live
Sheena the punk rocker is back! We had her in a couple of poems last year and caused quite a stir! Happy to see she's made a re entry and not been forgotten. Thank you Lisa! "Poison heart
I want to live" are two very powerful lines!
Yes. Just put that on repeat and keep strummin’!
Bonnie Raitt
My opening farewell
I need love
I believe I'm in love with you
I think about it all the time
Not cause I wanted to
I can't make you love me
I can't help you now
You gotta be ready for love
All at once
Just like that
Here come those tears again
River of tears
Cry like a rainstorm
Cry on my shoulder
Feels like rain
Can't find my way home
Too long at the fair
Let's keep it between us
When we say goodnight
Tangled and dark
Standing in the doorway
Walk out the front door
Run like a thief
Write me a few of your lines
Fool yourself
Your gonna get what's coming
Back around
The comin' round is goin' through
It's all over now, baby blue
Give it up or let me go
Nothing seems to matter
I know
Bye bye baby
I feel the same
So much love and pain in this one. Class act Bonnie Raitt! I can't make you love me is a masterpiece. Thank you Gordon!
Like Kate I went with REM today.
Around the sun
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bittersweet me
Can’t get there from here
At my most beautiful
Dancing barefoot
All the right friends
Everyday is yours to win
Femme fatale
Crush with eyeliner
Pale blue eyes
Bang and blame
Pretty persuasion
Everybody hurts
Perfect circle
Losing my religion
Second guessing
Try not to breath
Talk about the passion
Until the day is done
Live for today
Why not smile
The one I love
You are the everything
These titles are just great! You build a whole story with them! Thx Darienne.
Lovely. - lots of good material … but you’ve made it into art!
Thank you Kate! Both versions are equally artful.
Finally back to writing !
What are you doing here Theresa? What a happy surprise! Great to have you back and love this short piece with Ringo. Happy, light and entertaining.
R is for R.E.M.
She just wants to be
Blackbird, find the river
Nightswimming
So fast, so numb
Oh my heart
Everybody hurts
Feeling gravity's pull
High speed train
around the sun
Try not to breathe, find the river
I've been high - imitation of life
Highland fling, circus envy
bang and blame
make it all Ok,
half a world away shiny happy people belong
the worst joke ever
I don't sleep, I dream
I wanted to be wrong
Blackbird
I'll take the rain, king of birds
It's the end of the world as we know it
Disappear, find the river
"Find the river" indeed Kate. These titles as with Darienne's have reminded me of the poetic lyrics of REM. Need to go back and listen to these old songs of amazing art from the past. Thank you!
I love how we used the lyrics in such different yet artful ways.
Darius Rucker songs poem:
Hold On
Sara
It Won’t Be Like This For Long
Down Here
Learn to Live
One More Night
Another Night with You
All I Want
I Will Love You Still
Aw!!! So many songs about Sara’s. This is beautiful and emotional. Thank you Marinarena!
Seems a bit like a film noir voiceover this one, Haha...
RANDY CRAWFORD (Poem)
IT'S RAINING, RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA,
CIGARETTE IN THE RAIN,
I CAN'T GET YOU OFF MY MIND,
SAME OLD STORY,
WE HAD A LOVE SO STRONG,
I LET YOU WALK AWAY,
SOMETHING SO RIGHT,
THAT'S HOW HEARTACHES ARE MADE,
THE GLOW OF LOVE, CAN WE BRING IT BACK,
DON'T SAY IT'S OVER,
IT'S RAINING, RAINY NIGHT IN GEORGIA,
YOU BRING THE SUN OUT... 😎
