Thanks! And well done to you, too, for putting these amazing Posts together every day. It is a nice positive message this one. I think last year, it ended with a crashed Corvette and a woman breaking her legs. So this is a much more upbeat note, for sure! Haha... 😎
Keep us in your heart Darienne! I'm so glad you ventured out with this even though I thought you wouldn't at some point. We don't often get titles telling a whole story like Zevon's. Each couplet is a chapter of a book, all contained in these wonderful lines of this poetic flow you've got here. Thank you for being here every day for the last two years of this challenge and bringing us arms filled of songs and poems! Wow!
The drain of every day and simple life troubles told in these lines! I mean my one complain is that with this kind of writing I'd expect you here every day! Hahahahaha! This was wonderful and it's been great to have you here for this challenge.
That’s a sweet thing to say … I wish I’d been here everyday too! This has been a real pleasure - and a real exercise in crafting some meaning from a strictly parametered (not a word) set of boundaries. I know that that wasn’t always achieved in all my pieces, but it was in some, and that’s been an uplifting source of pride.
Nice community of practice, and appreciation you’ve created here, Pilgrim.
It takes some getting used to but what I’ve seen is that those who get into it and come back day after day and even a year later, become experts at it and create some mind blowing pieces. What I love is how every single participant has their own favourites in music and the way we interpret and understand song titles just give a total new meaning to the song, the artist and what you create in each poem. We’ve got two more days and you can always go back to previous days to join in later. It’s up to you. Finally, thank you for your kind words. It’s been lovely having you here!

Well, we did it! We've made it to the end of another Marathon! Well done everyone...

WOMAN, YOU MAKE ME FEEL GOOD,
YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME,
THIS WILL BE OUR YEAR,
I CAN'T BE WRONG,

Well done you Chris! You made it! Love the positive message to end on!

Is that a reference to how we will feel once the challenge has left us Chris? 😉
Haha! Well, it does always feel good to finish a big project... 😎👍

Why won't you give me your love

Give me a reason
Confusion

Are we friends or lovers?
Tired of hanging around

I know I'll never leave
Always right behind you

What's your problem?
You could make the four walls cry

Remember me
Don't ever think
Nobody loves me
.
You've got a friend in me
I will be your pockets

How does it feel?

Valerie never ceases to amaze as do the Zutons! Thank you Lisa. I love how you've paired each couplet. The titles were made for your song title poem.

Have you heard? Jesus
just left Chicago concrete and steel
Sharp dressed man
Dipping low in the lap of luxury
Sleeping bag
Sure got cold after the rain fell
Have a little mercy, Precious
and grace
Goin’ down to Mexico
Asleep in the desert
Arrested for driving while blind
Delirious stages
Reverberation (doubt)
give it up, doubleback
Have a little mercy, Precious
and grace
Thug, nasty dogs and funky kings
Back door love affair
Tell it I got the message
Give it up
Move me on down the line
Lowdown in the street
Have a little mercy, Precious
and grace
It’s so hard
Neighbour, neighbour
Got me under pressure
Just got paid
I got the six TV Dinners
I need you tonight Jesus
Just left Chicago
I gotsta get paid
Have a little mercy, Precious
And grace
Waitin’ for the bus
If I could only flag her down
Sleeping bag
Sure got cold after the rain fell
