So much fun packed into this poem and the second mention of Peter Gabriel. I think he deserves a whole Friday dedicated to him.

"One Night in Bangkok" and "I know him so well"!!! My parents had a cassette of the "Chess" soundtrack when I was younger and I listened to it over and over 💛.

Well, for this one, I thought I'd try to do something a bit different, so I've been exploring video game soundtracks. The one that seems to use the most diverse range of well-known music is the 'Grand Theft Auto' series. So here's a quick poem, based on some of those songs...

GRAND THEFT AUTO (Poem)

OWNER OF A LONELY HEART,

MIDLIFE CRISIS,

DANGER ZONE.

*

GIN AND JUICE,

ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER.

*

FOR NOW, BAD GIRLS,

MAKE THE WORLD GO AWAY,

THREE CIGARETTES IN AN ASHTRAY... 😎

Love this! You’ve gone very serious and I think the character in this poem will need something more than those three cigarettes after the midlife crisis and the heart break. Great one!

Absolutely! He's spiralling out of control and is definitely going to end up buying an over the top car, or a motorbike. Haha! This was a great Theme to explore, and it's always interesting trying to find these little stories hiding amongst the song titles. I'm glad you enjoyed it... 😎

Wow! Gloria, you arrive and the games have begun! Seriously, you've taken this to a whole other level with this. Run to the hills, the final countdown, Heroes, In the end and Another one bites the dust. I don't know anything about Warcraft games. How does it work? Does the music bring you to the game or is the game introducing these old classics to the younger crowds. Seems like they do a perfect score for the war games, but never played one. Thank you for all the time you took to reference everything and creating this treat.🙏🏻

Yesssss! It's back! I'll have a think and see what I can come up with for this. 'Games' is an intriguing one, for sure. Also, I've just put up a new Post for Halloween, featuring a revised version of one of my earlier Song Title stories. This one turns the soulful songs of The Isley Brothers into a quick little Horror tale! Haha... 😎 Find it here: https://chrisjfranklin.substack.com/p/run-the-titles-volume-four
